Project Life | January

2015 is my 4th year doing project life!  Ah, I can’t even believe I have already kept up with this crazy project for so long.

A lot of fellow “project lifers” I follow were switching up their process this year and I decided I was ready to make mine a little different too.

I am still keeping it weekly.  Doing one page per week, adding inserts if something extra happens.

However, I am not doing a 12 by 12 spread each week, I am changing it up and using a variety of page protectors.

I am excited about this change and the possibility to include more sizes.  I think it adds interest to the book as well.

I know the beginning of the year is going to look a lot different than the second half of the year.

In addition to this album, I have a baby album as well that I will be adding to as the year goes on.

My plan is flexible and will probably look different next year as well. I might go back to 2 pages per week.

The goal is to share the pages here once a month.  This is a look at the beginning and January. 2015-02-09_00012015-02-09_00022015-02-09_00032015-02-09_00042015-02-09_00052015-02-09_0006

  • Tabitha - I am curious how much it costs to do project life? Do you have an estimate on roughly what someone would expect to spend per month to keep up on this project? It seems like such a neat idea – it’s just a matter of finding the time and room in the budget! Thanks!ReplyCancel

    • Lindsey - Hi Tabitha! I have never really calculated it but I did some price checking to give you a rough idea of what it might cost. You can buy everything at Hobby Lobby or Michaels so I would use a 40% off coupon for each item. Also good to know is now other companies (especially at Hobby Lobby) make page protectors that are divided and can be bought cheaper than “Project Life” items. A box of page protectors is $30. A core kit is $30. (But can be had for $18 with coupon). Both those two things will last you for the year. And you would need an album which would be between 10-20 dollars. The most expensive part is printing the photos. Now I went by Walgreens prices 30 cents each, but I am sure you can find them cheaper. (Especially if you order online, you could probably get them for 9-15 cents each). I print at home, but that is not the most cost effective way. I just find that printing at home allows me to keep up with it easier. So my estimate with prints and paper and pages is between $25-$45 a month. Now of course there are lots of embellishments and stickers you can buy that all add to that price, however the original idea behind project life is that you don’t need all of that. Just a place to record your stories and memories And I only do one page per week, instead of 2, which would half that figure since you end up with less prints. Hope that helps! 🙂ReplyCancel
